Please reach us at hello@aurora-aesthetics.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Each patient is entitled to a free, no obligation consultation with our Lead Aesthetics Pharmacist, Chloe.
Typically, you can expect most anti-wrinkle treatments to last 3-6 months before the effects wear off and a top up is needed, although this will vary person to person and may last a bit longer for some.
For dermal fillers, this is a lot more variable depending on how the individual breaks down the hyaluronic acid (which is the main component in most dermal fillers) and the type of filler used (which is dependant on area) so can be between 6-18 months. That being said, some people are still happy with the results years later.
For all treatments, we would encourage you to get in contact with us as soon as possible if you have any queries/worries, where we aim to respond to emails within 48 hours, but urgent WhatsApp/text messages will be responded to on the same day. There is an optional free follow up appointment available at two weeks for anti-wrinkle injections where we can see if a top up is needed, as the results would be seen by this point. This is not usually needed for dermal filler treatment but we are happy to see you for a review if there are any concerns.
Yes, if you have booked an appointment with us and had time to think about your treatment in advance then we can discuss if your treatment is suitable in the consultation at the start of your treatment appointment. If you have any queries and not sure if it’s for you we would encourage you to book a free consultation with us to discuss a treatment plan prior to treatment.
For anti-wrinkle treatments, this usually takes up to two weeks for full results to be seen, but the effects can start to be seen within a few days. For dermal fillers, you can see the results straight away however swelling can affect how certain areas look, especially the lips, for up to two weeks.
You have to be 18 years old or over to receive any of our treatments. We are obliged to ask for ID if necessary.
For anti-wrinkle treatments, as the results last 3-6 months, a top up is recommended every 3-6 months for most people. For dermal fillers, this is much more dependant on the area and the individual. Typically between 6-18 months however if a top-up is wanted sooner we would recommend booking a review to discuss this prior to treatment.
For anti-wrinkle treatment, bruising, redness, pain at injection site, headaches and muscle weakness are common, less common would be infection which we would encourage you to tell us about as soon as possible. Also, unexpected results such as an eyelid droop could be seen which is reversible with time but again, we would encourage you to tell us about this as soon as possible. With dermal fillers, typically bruising, bleeding and swelling, pain at the injection site and temporary asymmetry while swelling is up. More serious side effects include infection, allergy, and vascular occlusion which are rare. However, your clinician will prep you for what to look out for and to make us aware as soon as possible. All of these are covered in our consent forms.
This is subjective to the individual with everyone experiencing different levels of discomfort. For anti-wrinkle treatments this is minimal but this can vary more for dermal fillers. We try to make it as comfortable for you as possible by recommending numbing creams prior to dermal filler treatments and using, in most cases, filler which has a local anaesthetic in it. However, there may still be some levels of discomfort despite these measures taken.
No, you cannot have anti-wrinkle treatment or dermal fillers whilst pregnant or breastfeeding. However, we do have some skincare treatment options which are very effective. We would encourage you to book a free consultation to discuss your skin concerns with us so that we can agree on a treatment plan that is safe for you.
Yes. If there is a complication or an aesthetic need then yes, fillers can be reversed using hyaluronidase, which is an enzyme that dissolves the hyaluronic acid in your filler treatment.
You can do most day to day activities, however we would advise avoiding alcohol, vigorous exercise, and hot environments such as saunas and steam rooms for 24 hours after treatment. We also advise against wearing make up for 24 hours and remaining upright for at least an hour after treatment. These do not apply to prescription skincare, where side effects and activities will be covered on an individual basis depending on your treatment plan.
